Our line of services includes Phase I, II and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), hydrogeological studies, underground storage tank removal programs, and soil, sediment and groundwater remediation projects. We offer project management from project inception to project completion.
The Ministry of the Environment monitors fuel oil spills in Ontario, and has the power to write clean-up orders to property owners when a spill has the potential to cause an adverse affect to the natural environment.
The Technical Standards and Safety Authority regulates fuel oil, gasoline and other fuels in Ontario, and has the power to write clean-up orders to property owners affected by a fuel oil spill.
We act as experts in site remediation to ensure the work complies with the relevant legislation. We liase with insurers, owners, contractors, and government staff to get the job done as quickly and economically as practical. We provide the final compliance reporting to the interested parties.
We supervise the removal of underground storage tanks (USTs) and aboveground storage tanks (ASTs). Storage tanks are prone to leaking after an extended period of time. We can also inspect the tanks upon removal to determine cause of failure. We conduct confirmatory soil sampling in the areas surrounding the tank as required by the Ministry of the Environment.
We provide failure analysis services to determine the cause of a spill so liability can be evaluated and subrogation against the tank manufacturer or installer can be evaluated following a tank failure. The clean-ups can be very expensive and often result in litigation for liability.
