Sadie graduated in 2014 from the University of Waterloo and is recognized as an Professional Engineer (P.Eng) by the PEO. Her degree in Systems Design Engineering has equipped her with knowledge across engineering disciplines: structural, mechanical, electrical, fire behavior and building science.
Her forensic engineering experience includes investigating the cause and origin of fires, structural damage, building envelope leakage, basement flooding, product failure and personal injuries. She also develops solutions to remediate structures, building envelopes and fire separations.
Sadie was a building science engineering consultant, prior to joining Caskanette Udall, where she conducted building evaluations, designed repairs and managed construction.
Sadie has conducted reserve fund studies for both high-rise and town home condo corporations. She has also provided property condition assessments for capital planning, pre-purchase and vendor purposes. Buildings assessed include residential, office and retail properties as well as specialty properties such as fire stations, resorts, libraries, banks, arenas and community centers.
Sadie is fully qualified to investigate fire cause and origin. She is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) and a Canadian Certified Fire Investigator (CCFI-C). Sadie is a member of the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), Canadian Association of Fire Investigators (CAFI), and the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA).
