Bob Caskanette is an Environmental Specialist and Licensed Engineering Technologist (LET) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) in the disciplines of Environmental and Forensic Engineering. Bob has 20 years of experience in the field of consulting and engineering. Bob is a certified Environmental Professional (EP), with specializations in Site Assessment and Reclamation, Water Quality, Air Quality, Health and Safety, and Waste Management, by the Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) of Canada, Bob is also a certified Radon measurement professional and was trained in the Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP).
Bob manages designated substance survey (DSS) projects and hazardous material project management and abatement (i.e. Asbestos, Lead, Silica, PCBs, Mercury, and Mould), clandestine drug labs, and marijuana grow-ops, indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments, as well as other industrial/environmental hygiene-related work including within health care facilities (IPAC). Bob is very well trained and knowledgeable in health and safety requirements for projects, with over 200 hours of health and safety training between college and university courses, as well as industry training, and is a certified HST.
In addition to environmental engineering duties, Bob is fully qualified to handle assignments in fire and explosion cause and origin investigations. He is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI), and a Canadian Certified Fire Investigator (CCFI-C). Bob is an active member of the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), the Canadian Association of Fire Investigators (CAFI), the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), and the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA). Bob is currently on the CAFI executive board of directors, effective since April 2015 and currently holds the position of President (Chapter 006). Bob is also active with the K-W Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association (OIAA) executive board of directors since 2023 and currently serves as Financial Secretary.
Bob is a very active community volunteer and serves on the executive board of the Wellesley Apple Jacks Junior C Hockey Club (Director of Game Day Operations), is the Chair of his local Recreation Service Board, will serve on the newly created Wellesley Township Recreation Advisory Committee (WTRAC) beginning Fall of 2025 and also serves as Treasurer on another local board in his community. Bob has also volunteered with the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CCFF) for over 30 years and is a proud member of the Knights of Columbus (Kitchener Chapter).
